1510
This painting, from approximately 1510, shows the educational status of
women of nobility. They were both artists and writers, while still
maintaining their feminine appeal. The woman displays the center part
in her hairstyle, representative of the time, while only showing a
portion of her hair, maintaining an image that is noble, proper, and
pious. Throughout the Renaissance, the hairstyles of the nobility were
elegant without being garish, in keeping with an image of
respectability.
