At last we have the daguerreotype photography process to give true images of people from the nineteenth century. Barely a decade old, the process shows the dark beauty of the subjects. This woman is barely more than a child, showing the more youthful curls, while at the same time she poses in clothes that attempt to protray a maturity. She still shows her neck as she holds very still for the photographer to complete the long sitting period.
